NORTH BALLARAT SPORTS CLUB GEARS UP FOR THE AFL EVENT OF THE YEAR
North Ballarat Sports Club’s annual AFL Grand Final lunch on September 26 will be the setting for the announcement of a unique partnership between the Club and Paralympics Australia.
An innovative and exciting partnership to develop community, education, and sporting programs in Ballarat and the surrounding region.
Ballarat City recently honoured five local athletes who have represented Australia at the Paralympic Games with the opening of the Ballarat Paralympic Sports Avenue and this partnership will see the spotlight on Ballarat continue in the lead up to the 2020 Paralympic Games to be held in Tokyo, Japan.
To announce details of the partnership, which will have significant economic and social benefits for Regional Victoria will be special guest Lynne Anderson, CEO of Paralympics Australia, together with North Ballarat Sports Club CEO, Scott Seward.
Lynne will be joined by AFL Legends Peter Daicos (former Collingwood goal kicking great), Tony Shaw (former Collingwood premiership captain and coach, and current media personality) and Mark Williams (former Port Adelaide Premiership coach and, Collingwood and Brisbane Bears player) who will give expert analysis of the 2019 AFL Grand Final.
It won’t all be serious with guests able to enjoy a laugh with comedian Gabrielle Rossi.
Following the “kerfuffle” surrounding Moana Hope and Mick Malthouse at the 2018 Grand Final Luncheon, Ballarat residents will need to grab their seat now to be sure they are stage side for any action!
All proceeds from the Luncheon will go toward the Australian Paralympics Team to assist with Tokyo 2020. Preparing for, and travelling to, the Olympic Games can be costly, and it’s even higher for para-sport athletes.
Every dollar counts for these athletes.
