Are you ready to try Para-Sport while raising funds to assist the Australian Paralympic Team head for gold in Tokyo 2020?

North Ballarat Sports Club, an official partner of Paralympics Australia, will today launch the inaugural Para-Tough Cup – a FIRST for Regional Australia.

The Para-Tough Cup, to be held at the Ballarat Sports Events Centre on Tuesday, April 7, is an action-filled event where teams compete in Para-sports, earn points for winning and additional points for raising vital funds for Paralympics Australia.

Every dollar raised will go directly to Paralympics Australia’s work to deliver Paralympians to the Tokyo 2020 Games and to give more Australian’s with a disability an opportunity to shine.

“This is the first real rollout of our partnership with Paralympics Australia and we couldn’t be more excited,” said North Ballarat Football and Sports Club CEO Scott Seward ahead of today’s launch.

“The Para-Tough Cup is a unique initiative in Australia. Ballarat will be the first regional host for the community competition. The concept brings together corporate and community teams to compete in para-sports with a two-fold objective; to raise funds for our Paralympians but to gain first-hand experience of the challenges a disabled athlete faces in their competition,” said Scott.

Paralympics Australia staff members will be on hand to answer questions and guide contestants through the Para-sport activities. And don’t fear – a first aid team will be on site in the unlikely event of any injuries.

Paralympics Australia still need to raise more than $2 million for our athletes to compete in Tokyo and North Ballarat Sports Club is calling on Corporate Ballarat to get on board and support the event.

If you, or an organisation you know, is interested in participating in the inaugural event please Contact Kate Davies using the form below or call us on (03) 5339 5944.
